If you look at the 3 minute mark of this 1986 video there used to be a Mare Island ferry service to get to the mainland like Vallejo. Today Mare Island Ferry terminal is more notable for providing Solano County Residents ferry service to downtown San Francisco. Also True today the places in the Mare Island clip are notable for being used as filming location for San Francisco scenes.
